Comments: Al! I'm not sure if you remember me, but my name is Sarah and when you came to my school (North Central College in Naperville, IL) you granted me one of the most memorable moments of my life! It was my pleasure to be one of your hosts, and to be able to sit in the front row for your exquisite concert.....and when you improvised a song over my name, I just lost all my senses! I'll never forget that moment, and getting to meet one of the most innovative, artistic, authentic, and blessed performers I've ever known! Thank you so much, and may God continue to bless you richly!!

Comments: I saw his concert in March here in Oklahoma City. What a wonderful performer. I went home thinking what a generous man to give himself to all of us to enjoy. If only all the young generation would open their eyes and listen. He brings a wealth of education in music and we could all learn from him.

Comments: Please come to San Francisco soon! Look to the Rainbow is one of my all-time favorite albums -- it immediately transports me back to my very happy childhood, blasting your music from our house on the verdant East Coast. Your spirit, as expressed by your voice, is so beautiful and I would love an opportunity to share the experience of seeing you sing in person with my partner.

My friends and I look forward to seeing you with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on June 2! I'm your Georgia Convention Center host (from 2004) and we talked at Borders last year. I never miss a show if I'm here and you're here. Are you going to hang anywhere after the show ? -- we can make some salmon and miso soup for you :;

Best to you!

Karin

Comments: Hey al, I just wanted to let you know that I've loved your music since I was a young kid. Growing up in a rural northern michigan town, I knew I was different from many of the other children. Much of this probably had to do with my total blindness from birth. I was fortunate enough to have a family who loved me unconditionally and treated me just like any other member. Yet I somehow always felt alone. Then came that day when I happened to turn on the radio and heard Mornin for the first time. Al, I can't tell you how comforted that song made me feel. Through it's cheery upbeat tempo to the rich orchestration that comprised both the melody and harmony, I suddenly felt powerful in a way never known by me before. Subsequently, I bought your album Jarreau on cassette and was transformed by your song Trouble In Paradise. You have a gift to make people feel so much better about themselves. I've had a lot of trials over the years. People can sometimes be cruel when they don't understand those who have disabilities. Yet whenever I've felt that way, I have been able to listen to you and regain that unstoppable sense of hope and optimism. I do have a question though. I have wanted to buy new copies of both Jarreau and Heart's horizon. After years of playing the cassettes, they've finally worn out and unfortunately I never bought them on cd when they were available. Could you or your web master point me in a direction so that I can re-add this music to my library? Once again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me see the happiness that life can bring. You truly are a vocal treasure that enriches our lives and helps us look beyond ourselves. I am a musician myself and can only pray that I can give the gift of music to others as wonderfully as you've given it to me.
