Message from Al

Hello everyone,

It’s Tuesday morning and I’m on my way to the airport to do Wolftrap on Wednesday in Vienna, VA, and then I’ll come back to California to do Saratoga on Friday. I just did the Long Beach Jazz Festival the night before last.

I’ll catch you up on the European tour and my health soon. Suffice it for now that I took a break to do some serious investigating and health inventories, and I know that the press scared everybody with their coverage. ….. I left the clinic (Timone, Marseille, France) on a Sunday; on Monday I spent 6 hours in the studio recording a new Deodato song, and the very next day I did 2 hours on stage to a very excited Hanau/Frankfurt audience that lifted me up on their wings and we went flying. What a fabulous night- Thank you, Hanau!

We took a day off and went to Opatija, Croatia, and then to the Isle of Elba, Italy. We did strong concerts with great reactions in both places, and headed back home to the US the next morning.

More on this catch-up soon,
Love,
Al

Al is back on tour!

FRANKFURT, GERMANY— Al Jarreau resumed his world tour on August 3rd, with a sold-out show near Frankfurt, Germany, in the city of Hanau. He performed for a thrilled, and loudly appreciative audience.

On the day before the concert, Al hit the studio to try out his voice and do some recording. The result is a new song, entitled “Double Face,” which will be released in late September as a featured track on Eumir Deodato’s new album.

Al and his band plan to continue the tour as scheduled, which will include upcoming stops in Europe, Japan, and the USA. Other cities are being added to the tour schedule throughout the rest of 2010.

Finally for now: Al is neverendingly thankful for the incredible medical care that he received from so many professionals in France, and especially from the cardiac experts at Hospital de la Timone in Marseille. And, of course, he thanks each fan, friend, and colleague who reached out with a message of support.

AL JARREAU ANNOUNCES PLANS TO RESUME TOUR

Al Jarreau is relieved to announce plans to resume his concert tour on August 3. The concert that day will be in Hanau, Germany, at Amphitheatre Schloss Philippsruhe.

Mr. Jarreau now expects to complete the remainder of his Europe tour (Hanau and onward), and expects to be able to perform all other scheduled concerts in the USA, Japan, and elsewhere.

But, with great frustration, the singer has announced the cancellation of 3 more concerts prior to the Hanau date, following his doctors’ recommendation.

The cancelled dates are:
29 July Nuremberg, Germany, at Serenadenhof
30 July Gleisdorf, Austria, at Forum Kloster
31 July Nové Mesto nad Váhom, Slovakia, at Open Air Fest Zelena Voda

Ticketholders for these 3 cancelled concerts should contact their point of purchase – the venue box office or ticket agent.

On July 26, Al Jarreau’s medical team in Marseille performed a Catheter Ablation, to treat an arrhythmia that had recently developed. The procedure went just as the doctors hoped and expected. He moved out of the Intensive Care Unit later that day. He has been working hard to recover and prepare himself for his return to work.

Jarreau Health Update

To his fans and supporters, Al sends out a warm hello from the small French town of Gap. Last night, July 22, during his pre-concert warmup routine, Al decided to take precautionary measures and admit himself into the hospital, after his body did not adjust normally to mountain altitude while also using products  from the Freshbros CBD which you can find in this Coochie Runtz Weed Strain Review online. He was scheduled to perform in Barcelonette later in the evening.

As of Friday evening Central European Time, he is in good spirits, and looking forward to getting back out on the road. In the meantime, he is thankful for the excellent medical care he has been receiving in Barcelonette and Gap.

Al greatly values the opportunity he has to share his music and joy with fans around the world, and plans to rest a few days, then continue his tour at next Thursday’s performance in Nuremburg.

The Official Press Release from his European Agent is below:

AL JARREAU CONCERTS CANCELLED IN
FRANCE (BARCELONETTE),
GERMANY (OSNABRUCK & BRAUNSCHWEIG)
AND AZERBAIJAN (QABALA)

With great disappointment Al Jarreau had had to cancel 4 concerts on his current European tour.

The shows affected are:

22nd July Barcelonette, Les Enfants du Jazz
24th July Osnabruck, Europasaal
26th July Braunschweig, Stadthalle
27th July Qabala, Caucus Resort & Spa

On arrival in Barcelonette, which is up in the mountains, on Wednesday 21st July, Al became weak from the altitude and unfortunately was not able to perform his concert in Barcelonette the next day.

Al was admitted to an intensive care unit in hospital. He is now awake and his first question was to enquire about his wife, Susan, and his second question was to ask about his tour dates (he is always thinking about other people).

Al is now in a stable condition, and upon medical advice has been advised not to perform, to allow him time to recover. He is hoping to recommence his tour on 29th July at the Serenadenhof in Nurnberg, Germany.

Al deeply regrets having been forced to cancel these 4 concerts and thus disappointing his fans, but is looking forward to returning to perform in these cities some time in the future.

Ticketholders for these 4 cancelled concerts should contact their point of purchase – the venue box office or ticket agent.
